Truthful Thursday: Health Struggles

Woman, Wife, Mom...you take care of everyone else. Send them to the doctor. Get medicine. Provide healthy meals. do you do the same for yourself?

Good health is one of the most beautiful blessings. You can have the brightest future ahead of you or the most noble plans, but if your body doesn't want to carry you there, how are you going to fulfill these dreams and plans?

Today I'm going to make myself vulnerable and share a little bit of my health journey. Why? To hopefully inspire or help someone else through my struggles.

The idea of "Wellness," "living a balanced and healthy life," "feeling energetic and strong," has always been attractive to me. For most of my life I tried to follow the basic rules of a balanced lifestyle and it has always worked well. But then we started with fertility problems where I started loosing myself and the will to exercise. Everything felt like effort at that stage and I was consumed with sorrow and stress. Then after walking a route of AI and eventually IVF, we fell pregnant, which made my heart full again. These routes were, though, filled with extra hormones, cortisone and other meds which has an effect on the balance of your body. After our eldest were born, I did get my mojo back and started working on my health again. Which probably helped me to - out of the blue might I add - fall pregnant again. This happend during the beginning of the Covid time, and the pregnancy, having a one year old at home, figuring out work online during this time and all the extra home work started putting pressure again, with the results of my eating and exercising habits going out the door - again. Our beautiful second child was born, but suddenly we had to learn how to handle colic, reflux and an allergy to breastmilk. Both kids fell sick easily with my eldest being back at school and I just didn't have time to take care of myself. Even if I prepared healthy meals for the kids, I didn't wanted to eat healthy at that stage!

Here's the truth about most of my health issues. Ladies, we all have Candida in our bodies. And most women will have flare ups with your body fixing itself most of the times. But I didn't realise that for a few years now, the Candida numbers in my body started growing, showing me signs which I have ignored. Last year it became intense, but still I didn't intensely do anything about it. This month it has caught up with me, in full force. I have lost my apitite, had diaree, nuasea, brain fog, extreme fatigue, thrush in my mouth and throat, bloating, a change in my monthly cycle, kidney infection, and an entire body burning of pain with inflammation all because I didn't make work of this yeast infection a looooong time ago. The very high sugary diet, because I needed comfort, has also worsen this situation even further. Now it's extreme treatments and I need to adapt my diet to go sugar free, and for a while gluten free as well to restore the balance in my body.

Beautiful Lady, if you are suffering from any of the symptoms above, please have it checked out! Don't wait too long because you need to do a hundred and one things for everyone else first. This will inhibit your time with family, your purpose, dreams and plans. Have a look at what you are consuming and overall health habits.

Being mindful of what you eat, should never be about "loosing weight" or your "bikini body" but always about your overall health and feeling good in your body.
